The Superfluous Junk in My Trunk
Well, it is safe too say there is too much junk in my trunk, if you catch me. Last week my butt destroyed 2 pair of pants. The one was minor, but the other was a full blown backside bust-out! Yikes! At work! I stood up and RIP, the pants burst forth, showing off my large (and thankfully undergarment-wearing) buttocks! Luckily I was only in front of 2 woman co-workers, and one of them had the presence of mind to say "Well, it just ain't Halloween without a full moon." We laughed, I went home to change over lunch and it was over. However, it has me thinking that my butt size should decrease or I may have to switch to skirts, which rarely have backside rip issues.
I am nearly nearly done with my dad's Christmas present (praise the Lord!). It has been VERY slow going, and was a tedious project, but Luke tried it on for me last night, and it seems that it will be a good fit for my dad (a bit large on Luke). And I think it will make him look handsome (not hard--he's one of those guys that has that "handsome gentleman" look). Now I can start work on Luke's anniversary sweater, which will only be about 6 months late by the time I finish it (I hadn't started on it when it was our anniversary though, so really, that's not bad). I also have to finish of Analey's (my brother's super cute girlfriend) present, and then I have a few baby items to make for Elijah. I think I might actually make it to the holiday without blowing a gasket (or more pairs of pants).
Okay, so I just want to let you all know how freakin' impressed I am with my sister-in-law Christon. Elijah is not even a month old (will be tomorrow), and Christon has taken off all that baby weight! She is so dang good!
So, the big news: As of this past Monday, the S-Team Home Renovation business has begun!!! Basically, it's a business my family started, and I am a part of it! We buy heavily damaged, foreclosed houses, gut them and fix them, and then sell them. This Saturday we are going hard-core on the landscaping, and the next weekend we are gutting the basement. I am the self-proclaimed Design and Construction Consultant. Though I help with all areas of the renovation, my real expertise comes in later with the painting, design, tiling, staging, and other finishing touches. Pictures of the house will come later--I don't have any loaded onto my computer, though PLENTY pictures of the damage have been taken.
The house is pretty damaged--it had a fire at one point, and was flooded at another, so there is mold EVERYWHERE. But, the S-Team fam is amazing, and we'll fix that puppy up. I'm planning some amazing before-and-after pics.
Well, I need to do some work now (or at least act like it).

Kate, how are you supposed to dance to my humps without a little junk in the trunk! I am also conceded that I will stay with my job through the holidays, no point leaving when I have been saving my vacation all year for Christmas. How exciting that you are flipping houses! Our house was a foreclosure that was updated, but i think it was in pretty decent condition when they bought it. You will be so great at all the staging and designing. We get a handleful of cable channels and one of them is HGTV house stuff is so much fun! miss you, love you
