Driving in Fog
A lot has happened since I last posted. Here are a few highlights:
- I'm an auntie! My brother-in-law Adam and his beautiful wife Christon just had their first baby, Elijah Peter. He is adorable (seriously, you know how some babies are not so cute at first? Elijah does not have that problem--he is beautiful!).
- Luke got a pretty bad concussion on Thursday. He was playing softball and collided with one of the other players, knocking him to the ground. He got up and played another inning, but afterword my brother-in-law (another player on the team) told me he needed to go home or to the hospital because he was repeating himself. On the way to the hospital, I was so scared. Luke kept asking the same questions over and over, though it was August, and couldn't remember anything from the last week (including Elijah!). We spent almost all night in the hospital (went home at 3 am) after Luke had CT scans and x-rays done. Though he has a concussion and still can't remember most of Thursday, we are so blessed that nothing else is wrong, and he now remembers Elijah, and the rest of the week. He has to take it easy for a while, so I am trying to baby him a bit.
- We went camping this weekend with our Bible study group. It was so much fun. I love camping because then everyone is as grubby as I usually am. :) I am getting better about showering more often now that I have to work pretty hard at work and usually come home a little sweaty. Driving home, we hit this huge section of highway completely covered in fog. Driving out of it, I felt like that's how my life is a little. I've been in a fog for a while, not really knowing where I'm heading, but I feel like I'm finally coming into the clear.
- I had an interview on Thursday, and though it went well, Diane and I decided together that it wasn't a good fit for me. It was a good experience, even though I left without a job.
- I've been knitting like a fiend (like "making fiends" for those who get that reference). I have so many christmas gifts on the needles that it's making me slightly panicky that it won't all get done, but it always gets done, right? That's how I'm comforting myself for now. :)
